ROMAN SERPENT BROOCH

Description of Object:

Thought to be a serpent brooch, highly decorative on both sides with the same design

Discussion:

An unusual design and the only example of this type found in Middlewich so far. More research needs to be done about where this was made.

Dated to late Roman

Find-spot:

Collector B L Vawdrey does not state where this object was found but a large proportion of objects similar to this were known to have been found in Kinderton, Middlewich where he was once resident at Kinderton Hall.
