(ROMAN?) SPOON

Description of Object:

Metal spoon with a slight stripe pattern running through it on both sides, lovely finishing to where the handle was attached

Discussion:

The spoon needs some more research and it would be nice to know the original colours which, to the naked eye looks like a blue stripe.

Date of Object:

We are advised that this is probably late Roman but it  needs dating information from an expert to confirm this.

Collector B L Vawdrey does not state where this object was found but a large proportion of objects similar to this were known to have been found in Kinderton, Middlewich where he was once resident at Kinderton Hall.

Dimensions:

6cm by 2.2cm at the widest

Location:

Held in a private collection belonging to Peter Moore-Dutton of Tushingham
